Florida Keys Vacation

Snoop Bloggy-Blogg

Got to witness lots of absolutely gorgeous wild life. Went snorkeling, saw scores of iguanas, an alligator, a shark, a tortoise, some turtles, a Key deer, fish for days, thunderstorms most nights, warm and torrential, and the third-largest coral reef on the planet.

The place is beautiful, but tourists treat it like shit. Garbage everywhere, total tourist economy, smokers extinguishing butts into the ocean and gulf, beer smell in the streets, everybody drives.

Up island there are some nice parks and fishing from most bridges is allowed. Parks cost money, lots of fat whites, but if you stick your face in the water, you don’t have to look at them (or us ).

Stayed basically Saturday to Saturday, with travel on Friday and Sunday. Twenty hour trip from sun-up Eastern time driving to Ft. Lauderdale, then the 7 hours of flying and 2 hours of layover in Houston, got into my apartment at midnight Pacific.

The pics are mostly uninspired – I’ll have to dig through for gems and post them somewhere.

But, hey, I’ve been down there dozens of times, and this time I took the vacation for myself (and the dame), met up with family after five days, and was a big kid in my “home-town”. Pretty cool stuff.
